Dressings are the best part of a salad and add flavor to it. Some dressings tend to also add a significant amount of calories. Thus an allegedly light salad can have more calories than a simple stew.
A vinaigrette is a classic dressing. It is basically made from oil and vinegar. If you want to omit the oil, but not the creaminess of this dressing, try my fat-free vinaigrette.
- 150 ml (1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp) water
- 2 tbsp vinegar - herb vinegar, balsamic vinegar or else
- 1 tsp mustard - grainy Dijon or fine Dijon
- 1/2 tsp agave nectar
- 1/2 tsp guar gum
- 1/8 tsp onion powder
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- Mix all ingredients in the Personal Blender or your favorite blender until creamy. Let steep in the fridge and stir before use.
